In addition to designing the identity for the games of the 34th Olympiad, I also created a new image for the Los Angeles Olympic Organizing Committee that emphasized transparency and history—the former as an antidote to a series of financial misadventures that have occurred during recent decades, the latter as a reminder of the human spirit which inspires us to celebrate athletic achievement. Finally, the diverse linguistic fabric of Los Angeles serves as a platform to celebrate the international comradery exhibited by the Olympics.
